Wild Paint and Organic Dye Making Day at The Potters Barn

Wild Paint and Organic Dye Making from Plants, Fungi and Seaweeds

Through this intensive Wild Paint and Organic Dye Making Day we will look at extracting and fixing organic colours. Initially for use with fabrics and then at pigments for paint making. A huge range of colours will be made from things that can be found in the kitchen. In addition we will look at using things that can be found in the wild including mushrooms and seaweeds.

We will start the day by looking through a range of samples. You will then extract your our own colours and fix these to fabrics. At lunch you can try a range of wild herbal teas. During the afternoon we will move on to laking our dyes in to pigments and making our own paints. Everyone will leave with a range of dyed colour samples, paint samples and a range of organic hand made water colours.
